Assistant Professor

We invite applications for a position at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor to begin September 1, 2022. We seek a dynamic, creative, productive scholar and teacher with a specialization in the history and theory of media, including but not limited to cinema, who would complement the research and teaching agendas of our current faculty. We are especially interested in scholars whose research and teaching also engage one or more of these fields: literature since 1945, contemporary and transnational literatures, poetry and poetics, Jewish studies. The successful candidate will have native or near-native fluency in German and English and will be expected to teach a full range of courses across our undergraduate and graduate curricula. Applications should consist of a letter of inquiry, CV, teaching statement, writing sample of circa 25 pages, and three letters of recommendation.
