Assistant Professor of Technical Writing

The Department of English seeks to hire an assistant professor of English with a specialty in Technical Writing who can research and teach in one or more of the following areas: 1) rhetorics of science, technology, and medicine; 2) visual or digital rhetoric/critical digital literacy; 3) cultural rhetorics with an emphasis on race. The position is a 3/3 course load with responsibilities that include teaching technical writing at a variety of levels, from first-year courses to upper level technical writing courses to graduate courses in our Rhetoric and Composition M.A. Concentration.

The Department of English advises the student-run Spinnaker Media; we direct the university’s “Writing Around the Curriculum” Quality Enhancement Plan; and we coordinate interdisciplinary minors in Digital Humanities and Africana Studies. The successful candidate would expand our offerings in one or more of these areas.
