The Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics is a dynamic department with a progressive curriculum that includes a BA in Creative Writing & Literature, an MFA in Creative Writing & Poetics, and a low-residency MFA in Creative Writing. The Kerouac School also hosts the Summer Writing Program, an intensive colloquy of writers, artists, and performers who come together for three-weeks in the summer and offer workshops, lectures, conferences, and explore the possibilities of community. Since 1974, the Kerouac School has manifested an on-going commitment to poetry, experimental prose, activism, an engagement with material poetics––from letterpress to digital to somatic practices––small press publishing, performance, and hybrid/cross-disciplinary collaborations.
