Assistant Professor in Moving-Image and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies

The Department of Humanities and Cultural Studies (HCS) at the University of South Florida seeks to fill a 9-month, full-time, and tenure-earning position of Assistant Professor in Moving-Image Studies and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies. Expected start date is August 2022.

A Ph.D. in film studies, media studies, cultural studies, communication, or other related field is required. Applications from individuals who are ABD will be accepted, but the degree must be conferred by the appointment start date. Preference will be given to applicants who draw on interdisciplinary approaches, including demonstrated departmental strengths in affect theory, digital media, ecocriticism, intersectional feminism, and sound studies.

HCS is an interdisciplinary department with faculty working in a variety of fields, including American studies, film and media studies, history and art history, musicology, and philosophy.
