Instructor of Spanish / Spanish for the Professions Focus

The Department of Hispanic Studies at the College of Charleston seeks a full-time faculty in Spanish (specialization open) to fill an Instructor of Spanish position. Strong preference given to candidates with considerable experience teaching in the area of Spanish for the Professions—particularly the public health / healthcare related fields. The Instructorship is a renewable position and during the sixth year undergoes review for promotion to the rank of Senior Instructor. The position is benefits-eligible; the salary is competitive.

4/4 course load. Ph.D. required at the time of appointment, with at least 2 years of full-time collegiate teaching experience (online teaching experience a plus). Service contributions in the department are expected. Requires native or near-native fluency in Spanish and strong command of English.
