Assistant Professor of English, specializing in creative writing

The University of South Alabama English Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English, specializing in creative writing, starting August 15, 2022. This position is primarily in fiction although a secondary genre is encouraged. In addition to pursuing an outstanding writing career, the successful candidate will be expected to provide effective instruction and advising to a diverse population of graduate and undergraduate students.

Requirements: Ph.D. in English (preferred) or M.F.A. in Creative Writing, and a published book of fiction.

This faculty member also mentors creative theses for undergraduate and graduate students, assists with Stokes Center for Creative Writing events, and helps facilitate Oracle magazine along with other departmental and university service work. For more information, see the following:
