Assistant Professor in the area of English Education and Adolescent Literature

The Department of English, Humanities, and Philosophy at Midwestern State University seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor in the area of English Education and Adolescent Literature. The successful candidate will have teaching experience and a research emphasis in pedagogies of literature, adolescent literatures, and postcolonial British and Anglophone literatures of the long 19th – 21st centuries.

 

Responsibilities: This is a 9-month, tenure-track position with a standard load of 4/4 with optional summer teaching. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate English survey and communication core courses and undergraduate and graduate courses in adolescent literatures, literature pedagogies, and late English literature. Both onsite and online teaching are expected. In addition to teaching duties, the successful candidate will engage in scholarly activities and service to the department, college, and university.

 

Requirements: A Ph.D. in Literature or related field, experience teaching English literature and related courses, and a research emphasis in English education and adolescent literatures. We seek candidates who have demonstrated success in the writing and literature classroom and are able to teach courses that complement or strengthen our undergraduate and online graduate program. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree will be conferred by August 2022.
