Temporary Assistant Professor

About the Job

This position is located in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese Studies. The Temporary Assistant Professor will teach one semester-long undergraduate content course at the 3xxx-level, taught in Portuguese. Additionally, they will provide replacement teaching for 8-9 weeks for 3 language courses, ranging from Beginning Portuguese to Portuguese for Spanish Speakers. Courses vary from three to five credits. All courses will be taught in person. This will be a Spring 2022 appointment, starting January 12, 2022 and ending May 29, 2022. Qualifications

Required: PhD in Portuguese or a related field. Excellent teaching record in Portuguese language and Lusophone literatures and cultures courses.

Founded in the 1960s, the Department of Spanish & Portuguese Studies as the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, is widely recognized as a pioneer in the interdisciplinary study of language, literature and more broadly, cultural expressions grounded in theorized and broadly socio-historical perspectives.
