The Modern Language Association is currently seeking a project manager to manage CRM, CMS, and web application projects. Reporting to the head of technical project management, the project manager will also help conduct business analysis and implement process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and set priorities
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget using appropriate verification techniques
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Continuously improve processes of cross-functional teams
  • Promote collaborative working relationships with external vendors 
  • Other duties as assigned by the head of technical project management

Required Qualifications

  • Three years of similar experience
  • Familiarity with both agile and traditional methodologies
  • Experience managing CRM, CMS, or web application development projects
  • Demonstrated ability to use project management software, issue tracking tools, Google Drive, and Google Analytics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in publishing or education industries
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification
  • Knowledge of CiviCRM, WordPress, or PHP

This is a full-time position requiring at least two days on-site each week at the MLA offices in downtown New York City. Salary is commensurate with experience. The MLA provides generous vacation and sick time, flexible work hours, a 403(b) retirement plan, and individual health and dental plans with no shared premium cost.
