Literatures of the African Diaspora, Assistant Professor

The Fordham University English department invites applications for a tenure-track position in literatures of the African diaspora, with a focus on African American and/or Caribbean literatures in any historical period. This position will be based at our Rose Hill (Bronx) campus, carries a 2/3 teaching load, and begins in Fall 2020. We are looking for a colleague interested to advance the department’s commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion in pedagogy, curriculum, program development, and other areas of service. The successful candidate should expect to teach introductory literature and writing-intensive courses in Fordham’s Core Curriculum, upper-level undergraduate courses, and courses in their areas of specialization for our M.A. and Ph.D. students. We are also in the process of instituting a Race and Social Justice requirement for the undergraduate major, to complement our Difference and Intersectionality requirement for the M.A. and Ph.D. programs.
