Assistant Professor of Spanish (Tenure-Track)

The Department of Classical and Modern Languages at the University of Louisville invites applications for a tenure-track position in Spanish, to begin August 1, 2022.  Preferred candidates will hold a PhD in Spanish Linguistics or related field with an area of specialization in Interpreting, Translation, Spanish for the Professions or Applied Linguistics.  Primary duties include developing and teaching courses in Interpreting and Spanish for the Professions, as well as teaching a variety of courses in Spanish language and linguistics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will possess native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English, demonstrated excellence in language teaching, a coherent research program with promise for future scholarly production, and willingness to collaborate with communities beyond the university.
