Assistant Professor, Comparative Literature

The Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences at Howard University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a specialization in comparative literature, focusing on Anglophone literatures. We welcome applicants who can bridge comparative literature (and comparative philology as applicable) methodologies with one or more of the following areas of study: literatures of the African diaspora, literary theory, cultural studies, the history of ideas (and technologies), environmental and medical humanities, globalization studies, and digital humanities. We seek outstanding applicants with a demonstrated track record of excellence in research and teaching. Evidence of interest and success in mentoring underrepresented minority students is highly desired.
