Assistant Professor, Writing Program, Wake Forest University

The Writing Program in the Department of English at Wake Forest University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor. We seek a candidate with a PhD in Rhetoric & Composition, Writing Studies, or closely related field with research and teaching expertise in racial, (trans)gender, queer, (dis)ability, and/or embodied rhetorics and whose work considers questions of writing and social justice, public writing, and/or community engagement. Primary responsibilities will include pursuing an active research agenda; designing and teaching first-year, upper-level, and graduate courses in rhetoric and writing; and contributing to ongoing initiatives in Wake Forest University’s expanding Writing Program. Applicants must have a PhD in hand by August 2022. The teaching load is nine courses over two years. Salary is competitive.
