Assistant Professor of English, Rhetoric and Composition

The Department of Literature and Language at East Tennessee State University seeks applicants to fill a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in the area of Rhetoric and Composition. The successful candidate will direct our Composition program. Responsibilities include supervising instructors and overseeing curriculum, pedagogy, and graduate instructor preparation. Applicants should demonstrate expertise in Rhetoric and Composition through academic research, service, and teaching.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Rhetoric or Writing Studies or Ph.D. in English or related field with an emphasis on Rhetoric and Composition. ABD candidates will be accepted, but Ph.D. must be in hand by start date (August 15, 2022). 

Experience with First-Year College Writing Program.

Preferred Qualifications

Administrative experience in First-Year College Writing Program.

Salary: $55,000
