Position Description

The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures at Yale University intends to make a tenure track appointment beginning July 1, 2022. The search field is open. We are seeking candidates whose work pursues new directions in German Studies. We expect the hire to contribute to the graduate and undergraduate German program, as well as to cross-disciplinary initiatives with departments and programs such as (but not limited to): Directed Studies; Ethnicity, Race, and Migration; Film and Media Studies; Humanities; Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. 

Qualifications

The appointee must hold a Ph.D. in German Studies or a related field, or must have completed the requirements for the Ph.D. by June 1, 2022. Native or near-native proficiency in German and demonstrated excellence in teaching are required.
