Spanish Teaching Instructor

The department of Romance, German, and Slavic Languages and Literatures at The George Washington University invites applications for two full-time renewable, non-tenure accruing appointments at the rank of Teaching Instructor to begin as early as Fall 2022 with an initial three-year appointment.  The successful candidate will teach 4/3 Spanish language courses per academic year and contribute to the intellectual life of the department

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate will teach Spanish language courses at various levels plus participation in the revision/development of syllabi and assessment instruments. 

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have at least an M.A. in Spanish pedagogy or Second language acquisition. Experience teaching Spanish language courses at the college level, native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English, and able to demonstrate excellence in teaching ability at all levels of Spanish at the college or university level.  Applicants must be able to provide evidence of teaching excellence as demonstrated by evaluations, teaching assessments, letters of recommendation, etc., and demonstrate the ability to use technology in language teaching.
