Assistant Professor in Digital Rhetoric and Writing

The Department of Literature and Languages at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Digital Rhetoric and Writing with specialty in data analytics and visualization to join the English faculty of literature and rhetoric/writing in fall 2022 to further develop its thriving English BA and MA programs. Required qualifications include Ph.D. (by August 2022) in English or Rhetoric and Writing with ability to teach a wide range of courses in the English program—data analytical report writing with visualization, multimodal design, quantitative research methods, composition, and occasionally, literature. Commitment to composition instruction is required. 
Preferred credentials include experiences in writing on the digital platform as well as familiarity with web development platforms, UX and UI design, conducting research involving basic use of platforms of data visualization and analytics, such as R and Tableau.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, curriculum development, research and publication, learning outcome assessment, and local community outreach for service learning. Compensation is competitive and based on credentials.
