Assistant Professor of French

The Department of World Languages, Literatures, & Cultures at High Point University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of French (Non-Tenure Track). The position is to begin in August 2022.

Area of specialization is open. The successful candidate can expect to teach a 4/3 course load. These courses may include, but not be limited to, introductory and intermediate language, literature and culture courses at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate should also be willing to contribute to study abroad programs.

We are particularly interested in candidates well versed in current pedagogies, proficient in educational technology in and out of the classroom and committed to student-centered teaching.

Experience and interest in program development and retention are desirable qualifications.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • PhD in French, Second Language Acquisition, Comparative Literature or related field (in hand by date of appointment)

 

Experience/Training:

  • Near-native or native fluency in French and English.
  • Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate language teaching is critical.
