Assistant Instructor- English - Professional and Technical Communication

The Department of English invites applications for a non-tenure-track, full time instructor position in Professionaland Technical Communication. This is a permanent nine-month, full-time teaching appointment beginning August 8, 2022. Teaching load is 4/4 (12 hours per semester), teaching in the professional and technical communication program that primarily serves engineering, allied health sciences, and business majors.


QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Minimum Qualifications:
M.A./M.S./MFA from an accredited institution in Professional and Technical Communication, Composition and Rhetoric, or related field. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. by start date in Professional and Technical Communication, Composition and Rhetoric, or related field, and demonstrated professional background in Professional and Technical Communication. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching a 4/4 load; teaching online; and/or teaching upper-division PTC courses.
