ENGLISH. World Literature. Elon University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, beginning mid-August 2020. Requirements: PhD in English (focus in world literature); a record of innovation and excellence in teaching; demonstrated commitment to teaching first-year writing and introductory literature courses. Field of specialization is open, but emphasis in African, Middle Eastern, Latin American, or Asian literature especially desirable.
Teaching will include literature, first-year writing, and interdisciplinary courses in the Elon Core Curriculum. Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of people, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are encouraged to identify their experiences in their cover letter.
