Kay Fellowship in the Anglophone literature and film of the East Asian diaspora

Brandeis University invites applications for a two-year, non-renewable Florence Levy Kay Fellowship in the Anglophone literature and film of the East Asian diaspora beginning Fall 2020.  Kay Fellowships are interdisciplinary appointments.  The Kay Fellow in Anglophone literature and film of the East Asian diaspora will hold a joint appointment as a faculty member at the rank of lecturer in the Department of English and in the Department of German, Russian, and Asian Language and Literature.

The Kay Fellow will teach one course per semester and actively pursue their own research interests.  We are interested in candidates with expertise in Northeast or Southeast Asian diasporic literature or film from locations including but not limited to the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong.  The Fellow will receive a 2020-2021 salary of $60,000, plus benefits, with moving expenses (around $1,500), and a research fund of up to $4,000 per year. PhD should be in hand by the commencement of the fellowship.

Applications, which should be submitted through Interfolio at <apply.interfolio.com/68582>, should include a CV and three letters of recommendation. Candidates’ cover letters should include a brief statement about their experience and approach to teaching and mentoring students of diverse backgrounds.  First consideration will be given to applications received by December 18. Questions about the position may be directed to John Plotz at plotz@brandeis.edu.
