Assistant Professor of English

The Flagler College Department of English invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in creative nonfiction beginning fall semester of 2022. The course load is 4/4, and teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate creative nonfiction writing (introductory and advanced), first-year composition, and courses that contribute to the College’s new General Education program, with its emphasis on diversity and inclusivity. Preferred candidates will have published at least one book with a nationally recognized independent, university, or trade press. An MFA or PhD is required. Additional desired teaching specialties include publishing, professional writing, or special topics within the genre. Finally, the department welcomes candidates who may have experience working with literary journals. Future promotion in rank based upon review and evaluation of the successful candidate’s teaching, professional development, and service in accordance with the College’s guidelines.
