Professor/Associate Professor of African Literature and/or Cultural Studies 

The Duke University English Department invites nominations and applications for a tenure track position in African literature and/or cultural studies at the rank of associate or full professor. The department seeks specialists working in any region or period, and we are especially interested in comparative methods, critical theory, digital humanities, ecocriticism, gender and sexuality studies, migration, and screen studies. Candidates with research interests in African language literatures are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates should be committed to teaching both undergraduate and graduate students.

 

This hire is part of an effort to increase the number of faculty with global perspectives and expertise across core departments, with support from the Office of the Provost and funded by The Duke Endowment. The position begins January 1 or July 1, 2023.
