Two-Year Postdoctoral Fellow

The Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry of Emory University is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship for two academic years of study, teaching, and residence in the Center.  This fellowship offers research opportunities to those trained in the humanities as traditionally defined and to others seriously interested in humanistic issues; research projects must be humanistic, but fellows may hold the Ph.D. in any discipline.  We especially seek applicants and projects that will benefit from and contribute to the interdisciplinary nature of the group of Fellows and the work of the FCHI.  Successful applicants for the two-year Fellowship will be expected to present a completed project that, at the end of the Fellowship, could be sent to a press for consideration.

Postdoctoral applicants for this fellowship must have the Ph.D. for no more than six years before the submission of their applications.

Besides being an active member of the Center’s intellectual agenda through the academic year, this Fellow will be expected to offer an upper-level interdisciplinary undergraduate seminar on a subject of  choice during the spring semesters of the fellowship years.  Stipends of $47,000 a year will be offered, along with a research budget of $2,000, shared office space in the Center, and library access.  The deadline for submission of completed applications is January 14, 2022.  Announcement of the award will be made by mid-April.  More information and application instructions are available from the Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry at 404-727-6424, foxcenter@emory.edu, or on the web at www.fchi.emory.edu.
