The Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry of Emory University is accepting applications for one Postdoctoral Fellowship in Poetics for one academic year of study, teaching, and residence in the Center. Funded by a Challenge Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Fellowship will highlight the importance of the ongoing critical, theoretical, and creative engagements with poetry across Emory University, as well as marking the emergence of the Robert W. Woodruff Library’s Stuart A. Rose Manuscripts, Archives, and Rare Books Library as a major center for research in poetry. For more information on the Rose Library, please see <http://rose.library.emory.edu/>. We especially seek applicants and projects that will benefit from and contribute to the interdisciplinary nature of the group of Fellows and the work of the FCHI.
Postdoctoral Fellows, who must have the Ph.D. in hand before submission of their applications, are awarded to those who have held the Ph.D. for no more than six years before receiving the fellowship.
Besides being an active member of the Center’s intellectual agenda through the academic year, Fellows will be expected to offer an upper-level interdisciplinary undergraduate seminar on a subject of their choice during the spring of the fellowship year. Stipends of $47,000 will be offered to Postdoctoral Fellows, along with a research budget of $2,000, shared office space in the Center, and library access. The deadline for submissions of completed applications is January 14, 2022. Announcement of the award will be made by mid-April. More information and application instructions are available from the Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry at 404-727-6424, firstname.lastname@example.org, or on the web at www.fchi.emory.edu.
