Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, Comparative Thought & Literature

The Department of Comparative Thought and Literature at Johns Hopkins University seeks to make two tenure track or tenured, open rank appointments beginning July 1, 2022. We are looking to hire two accomplished scholars who work substantively in the following areas: (1) Middle Eastern literature or film or (2) modern and/or contemporary East, Southeast Asian or Trans-Asian literature or film. We are particularly interested in applicants able to complement and expand on our current expertise and whose approach is strongly philosophical. The Department is committed to conducting a globally broad and inclusive search for a candidate who, through their research, teaching, and service will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

A Ph.D. is required, but we will accept applications from doctoral students expected to fulfill Ph. D degree requirements by July 1, 2022.
