Italian/Spanish Lecturer

Description:

The Department of Hispanic and Italian Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is seeking a full-time lecturer to teach a total of six courses over two semesters. The primary responsibility for the position will be Italian and Spanish language and culture instruction (beginning to advanced) but may also include the development and teaching of culture courses in English. The position will begin Fall 2022. 

Qualifications:

The candidate must have at least a Master’s Degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a related subject, a strong background in Second Language Pedagogy and Applied Linguistics, along with evidence of pedagogical excellence in teaching Italian and Spanish at the college level as demonstrated by course evaluations or other forms of assessments. Native or near-native competence in Italian, Spanish and English is required. Evidence of commitment to students' success and participation in departmental activities is required
