The English Department at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is hiring a nine-month, tenure-earning assistant professor of South Asian literatures. The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of a productive research agenda and a strong commitment to teaching both face-to-face and online classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as the ability to teach a broad range of courses. The anticipated start date is August 2022 and will entail a 3/2 teaching load.

A Ph.D. in English or a relevant field from an accredited institution by time of appointment and successful teaching experience at the university level.
• Strong record of publication in the field; research interests in one or more of the following: the history of colonialism and anticolonialism; translation studies; diaspora studies; digital humanities.
• Ability to teach broad literature surveys, introduction to critical theory, and to develop and teach electives for undergraduate majors, such as Topics in World Literature and World Authors, and for the Master’s in Literary, Cultural, and Textual Studies program, such as Topics in Literary Study and Issues in Literary, Cultural, and Textual Theory.
• Ability to contribute to the undergraduate Editing & Publishing Certificate.
