Assistant Professor of Japanese

The Department of World Languages and Literatures at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Japanese. Area of Specialization: Open. Preferred Area(s) of Specialization: Japanese language, literature, and culture. This is a full-time position with a nine-month academic year appointment to begin Fall 2022.

Applicants must have the Ph.D. or be ABD in Japanese or comparable field. Ph.D. in hand is required by the time of employment. Applicants must demonstrate native or near-native fluency in Japanese, excellence in language teaching, and a strong commitment to scholarly research, active student engagement, and academic program development.
