Assistant Professor of Latinx Literature and Culture - Tenure Track

The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics in The College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University invites applicants for a full-time academic year, tenure track, Assistant Professor of Latinx Literature and Culture. Appointee must be available to start on August 22, 2022.

A Ph.D. in Latinx Literature & Culture or related field required in hand by August 2022. Native or near-native fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English required. The successful candidate will demonstrate an active record (or show promise) of research and publication in Latinx literature and cultural studies and excellence in teaching. Varied national and cultural representations within the Latinx field and a strong theoretical approach are desired in both research and teaching. Teaching duties will include four courses per year, two Latinx courses (one at the B.A. level and the other one in the M.A. level); the two remaining courses will be general Upper Division courses at the 300 level (SPA 301, “Approaches to Reading Texts”, SPA 321, “Introduction to Spanish Literature,” and/or SPA 322, “Introduction to Latin American Literature”).
