The individual hired for this position will have the opportunity to teach graduate courses in the Master of Arts in Writing program, undergraduate creative nonfiction workshops, and introductory creative writing courses. The Department of English (https://www.coastal.edu/english/) aspires to create a diverse and inclusive community of scholars that promote reading and writing critically through an open exchange of ideas so that our students can better understand—and write perceptively on—the historical, cultural, and aesthetic dimensions of language and literature. The department offers two majors: the B.A. in English and the B.A. in Digital Culture and Design. We also offer six minors and house the M.A. in Writing program, which prepares students for careers in writing, editing, and publishing or for further graduate study in M.F.A. or Ph.D. programs.
