Assistant Professor, American Culture and Literature

The Department of American Culture and Literature at Bilkent University invites applications for a faculty position in 19th and/or 20th-century American literature at the Assistant Professor level beginning in September 2020. Successful applicants will have a PhD in American literature by the time of appointment, a record of publication, and experience teaching introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in American literature or related fields. Area of specialization is open, though scholars who can work within interdisciplinary contexts and whose academic interests lie in the range of our third and fourth year courses are especially encouraged to apply. The regular course load is 3/3, but new faculty may be granted a course load reduction during their first two years of teaching. Initial interviews will be conducted via Skype in December. Additional information may be provided for candidates attending the MLA Convention in January 2020.
