Assistant Professor of Humanities

IE University’s Arts and Humanities Division seeks a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Successful candidates will hold a PhD in History, Art History, Philosophy, Literature, Anthropology, or a related field with a comparative and transnational approach. We welcome applicants with a promising record of publication, teaching, and service, and expertise in one or more of the following areas:

1) Technology and/or digital cultures

2) Environmental humanities

3) East/West comparative approaches

 

We are especially interested in applicants with experience in interdisciplinary research collaboration.

 

The new faculty member will teach courses across the graduate and undergraduate curriculum as well as in other programs and will be expected to play a significant role in shaping the future direction of the department. Additional duties will include conducting research, writing for publication, participating in department governance, and university service.

The position requires a Ph.D. degree and native or near-native proficiency in English.
