Non-Tenure-track Lecturers in Spanish

World Languages and Literatures. Position Nos. 00006032 and 00052463. The Department of World Languages and Literatures in Dedman College at Southern Methodist University seeks two full-time, non-tenure-track lecturers in Spanish beginning fall semester 2022. One-year contract, renewable. M.A. or equivalent in Spanish required; Ph.D. preferred. Normal teaching load is twelve credit hours per semester. We seek innovative and inclusive educators with demonstrated excellence in teaching a variety of language and culture courses at the university level and training in second language acquisition and pedagogy. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English and experience teaching Spanish at the university level are required. Primary responsibility will be teaching beginning and intermediate courses. Expertise in languages for specific purposes and/or teaching of heritage speakers of Spanish is a plus.

The Department of World Languages and Literatures is a dynamic department housing eleven languages and fourteen undergraduate degree programs, and it serves all of SMU's 6000 undergraduates through the university-wide language requirement.
