Two-year Visiting Assistant Professor Appointment in Chinese and Humanities

Two-year Visiting Assistant Professor appointment in Chinese and Humanities, with possible third year renewal. Beginning August 2022. Candidates should have native or near-native fluency in standard Mandarin and English, and a Ph.D. in premodern Chinese Literature or a related field in hand or near completion. The successful candidate will teach five courses a year, split between Chinese language classes at all levels, courses in Chinese literature, and two interdisciplinary courses with a pre-set syllabus (Chinese Humanities). They may also be asked to advise year-long senior theses. Above all, we seek candidates who have a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level and are engaged in a lively and serious program of scholarship.
