GRINNELL COLLEGE. The Department of Chinese and Japanese invites applications for a 2-year appointment in Chinese beginning Fall 2022. Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) preferred; Instructor (ABD) possible. The field of specialization is open, but we are especially interested in the candidates with expertise in Chinese literature (modern specialist preferred), Chinese Cinema, Chinese Linguistics, or in Chinese Pedagogy. Candidates are expected to describe their strategy for building an inclusive classroom composed of students from diverse backgrounds. The teaching load is five courses over two semesters, which includes four language courses and one content course in the candidate’s field of specialization.
