Lecturer, French Studies

The Department of French Studies at Brown University invites applications for a position of Lecturer with a 3-year, renewable contract, to begin July 1, 2020. Duties include: teaching French language classes (4 per year), coordinating multi-section courses, training and supervising Graduate Teaching Assistants and Teaching Associates from France.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching and coordinating French Language courses at various levels, with demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Ph.D. in French and Francophone Studies and/or language pedagogy, near-native fluency in French and English, knowledge of France and/or the Francophone world, and a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion are required. A background in language pedagogy, teaching with technology, and experience as a supervisor/mentor are essential qualifications.
