Assistant Professor of English-Literary Studies

Hendrix College invites applications for a two-year term position for an Assistant Professor of English-Literary Studies to begin in August 2022, with a specialization in the Early Modern period. The College seeks to extend its tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship by attracting faculty who combine mastery of their disciplines with broad intellectual interests and commitment to the aims of a liberal arts college. Doctorate by August 1st is preferred; ABD will be considered. This position involves a 3-3 teaching load. The first year of this position splits the teaching between composition and introductory literature courses, with one advanced literature course in Shakespeare; the second year of this position involves a greater range of composition and introductory/advanced literature courses in area of specialization.
