Writing and Communication Center

The Writing and Communication Center (WCC) is dedicated to supporting the campus community in the development of writing and communication skills to better serve the Library’s ongoing goal of supporting research and teaching at the University. The WCC offers writing and communication support for the UTC community via consultations, workshops, class visits, and instructional support. Behind the scenes, WCC personnel also provide seasonal support to the graduate school on review of submitted theses and dissertations for adherence to formatting guidelines. The WCC is currently staffed by a tenure-track faculty director, staff specialist, part-time consultant, graduate assistant, and 10-12 student consultants. Over the past five years, the WCC experienced tremendous growth in consultations and in faculty requests for instructional support. Because this is a new position, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape our operations as we navigate our return to in-person services in a new location and turn our focus again to long term growth.
