Description:

The Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time position as a Lecturer in German to begin in Fall 2022. This is a 9-month position with a 4/4 teaching load (or equivalent) and the possibility of additional summer teaching. This position is renewable with the opportunity for advancement in rank and includes full benefits. Responsibilities include teaching beginning and intermediate German language courses with the opportunity to teach undergraduate courses in the candidate’s area of specialization.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in German Studies or German Applied Linguistics (ABD considered)
  • Native or near-native fluency in German
  • Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching
  • Familiarity with language pedagogy

Familiarity with the technology and methodology involved in designing and teaching online classes as well as experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable. A willingness to train and mentor graduate teaching assistants is expected.
