World Language Media Center (Language Lab) Coordinator

York College of Pennsylvania’s Department of The Arts and Humanities invite applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track instructor position in the languages program.   The position is responsible for teaching foreign language courses and supervising the operations of the World Language Media Center (language laboratory) to provide for language instruction.

The instructor will teach in the language program (preferably French) and general education programs as needed, serving on departmental and college-wide committees, and pursuing a scholarly agenda.  As a teaching-focused institution, York College seeks candidates committed to cultivating student excellence and with genuine interest in teaching and developing student scholarly activity.  The standard load for this position is 2-2.  Position will start July 1.

The Department of The Arts and Humanities is broadly interdisciplinary.  Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements:

Applicants should have a Master’s Degree in a relevant foreign language, Ph.D. preferred.  Canidates should have fluency in English and at least one of French, German, Spanish.  (French preferred.)  Additional languages are a plus.  Experience with media/computer equipment and experience in providing support to college students.
