Description: The Yeats Initiative at the University of Notre Dame, is inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship for recent PhDs conducting research that includes a substantial focus on Irish literature.

The Initiative particularly welcomes proposals that engage with Irish literature in a comparative or multilingual context. The Fellow's primary responsibility will be academic research. They will normally be based at the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. They will have the opportunity to travel to Ireland for summer research trips during the course of the fellowship, and may be able to spend one semester at a partner institution in Ireland.

Fellows will be expected to deliver a guest lecture each year of their fellowship, teach at least one course each year, and participate in the organization of an annual conference at the Kylemore Notre Dame Global Center in Co. Galway, Ireland.


Qualifications:
PhD in hand before 1 October 2022

It must be no more than 5 years since the applicant was awarded a doctorate

Applicants must not be in a tenure-track university position or equivalent

Preference will be given to applicants who do NOT hold an advanced degree from University of Notre Dame.
