The Department of French and Italian at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time non-continuing faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences. Appointment to this position will be for a term of two years, beginning fall semester of 2022, and will carry the rank of Lecturer.

The incumbent will teach a total of five courses in the general area of contemporary French literature or culture from a global perspective, related to metropolitan France or the francophone world. An interest in theater and theatrical performance would be a plus. Two or three of the five courses will be courses on the French language (including elementary or intermediate French).

Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D. degree (in hand or expected by first semester of academic year 2022). Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
