POSITION: Distinguished Scholar in British and Global Literatures at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year position, renewable based upon performance and funding.
DUTIES: The teaching load for this position is four courses per semester (24 credit hours annually). Teaching responsibilities include British literature courses, Global Literature, General Education literature courses, and composition. Many of the courses serve the English major as well as the Humanities and Diversity Minor. Additional duties may include recruiting majors and minors, serving on a campus committee, and advising Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honors society.
This is a vibrant English program that houses literature, creative writing, secondary licensure, a Humanities and Diversity minor, a Professional Writing Certificate and first-year composition. Candidates with expertise in these areas will have opportunities to shape and participate in them.
SALARY: $44,000-$45,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include an employee/employer shared contribution retirement plan, and life and health insurance. We also provide dependent tuition reduction benefits, after one year of employment.
START DATE: August 16, 2022
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D., A.B.D., or MA. in English. Must have excellent record of university-level teaching experience and an enthusiasm for recruiting English majors.
