Visiting Assistant Professor
Lafayette College, located in Easton, PA – just 70 miles from New York City and 60 miles from Philadelphia, is a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts and engineering institution with significant resources to support faculty members in their teaching and scholarship.
The English Department of Lafayette College invites applications for a one-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor, specializing in African-American literature. The successful candidate will be able to teach introductory courses in writing and literature, and advanced courses in African-American literature. We are particularly interested in candidates with secondary strengths in American Modernism, critical race theory, and/or literatures of the African diaspora. The teaching load is 3/3. The appointment will begin July 1, 2022. Ph.D. by the start date with prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.
