The Department of English at the University of North Texas, a Minority and Hispanic Serving Institution, invites applications for a one-year lecturer position. This position is full-time, comes with a competitive salary, and includes benefits. Responsibilities for the position include teaching four courses each semester in first-year writing to a diverse student population. Successful candidates will join a diverse, collaborative, internationally recognized group of colleagues in the Department of English.
Qualified candidates will have an MFA or PhD in English (literary studies, creative writing, or rhetoric) or associated field, and demonstrated excellence in first-year writing instruction, with evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching diverse student populations and preparedness to teach at a Minority-Serving and Hispanic-Serving institution. We also value experience in critical pedagogy, information literacy, and online instruction.
