Continuing Lecturer in English

The Department of English at the University of North Texas, a Minority and Hispanic Serving Institution, invites applications for continuing lecturer positions. These positions are full-time, renewable, come with a competitive salary, and include benefits. Responsibilities for the positions include teaching four courses each semester, in first-year writing and English, to a diverse student population. Successful candidates will join a diverse, collaborative, internationally recognized group of colleagues in the Department of English.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have an MFA or PhD in English or an associated field. Candidates should be prepared to teach at a Minority-Serving and Hispanic-Serving institution and provide evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom. In addition, candidates should have a strong record of teaching and be prepared to teach upper-division undergraduate classes in English.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who possess expertise in one or more of the following areas: writing program administration, writing centers, online teaching, developmental writing, and ethnic literatures. We also value expertise in cultural rhetorics and/or racial rhetorics.
