Job Description:

The University at Albany, SUNY, seeks two full-time lecturers for the Program in Writing and Critical Inquiry to begin Fall Semester 2022.

 

Responsibilities include teaching seven courses per year, with the possibility of release from one course per year to assist with professional development opportunities, as assigned by the program director. Lecturers teach the Seminar in Writing and Critical Inquiry (WCI), a required general education course designed to introduce students to college-level critical inquiry with an emphasis on the intensive practice of writing in academic and other contexts. 

 

Requirements:

Qualifications Required:

  • Ph.D. or MFA from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization. (ABD or M.A. will be considered with appropriate teaching experience)
  • Experience teaching college-level writing
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching in first-year writing programs
  • Commitment to writing program development and professional development
  • Experience and interest in evaluation, assessment, and writing-related research preferred.
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse student body and growing international student population
  • Commitment to student success

Professional Rank and Salary Range: Lecturer (10 month), $44,178
