Adjunct Instructor in Spanish

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Northwestern University invites applications for several full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track, adjunct instructors at the rank of Lecturer for the Spanish Language Program. These are 10-month positions that will begin on September 1, 2022 and go through June 30, 2023. The successful candidates will teach two Spanish language courses per quarter (six courses in total).

Requirements include native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English; PhD in Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics, or in a field related to Spanish language instruction (ABDs may be considered); Latin American literature Ph.Ds. with demonstrated successful language teaching experience at the college/university level will also be considered; ability to work effectively with educational technologies used in language teaching and learning. A research profile in foreign language and familiarity with the ACTFL proficiency guidelines is highly desired.
