Assistant Professor of English/Social Change

The English department at Graceland University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Social Change/English. The position begins August 2022. Ph.D. in Social Change/Rhetoric/English or related field required by August 2022.  

 

We are looking for candidates who can lead and teach in our interdisciplinary Social Change major.  Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated teaching success in two or more of the following areas: critical race theory, American literature, social justice, African American Literature, digital humanities.  Ability to teach eco-criticism or environmental studies a plus.  The 4/4 teaching load includes composition, core English courses, and topics courses based on the candidate’s secondary interests that can appeal to both majors and non-majors.

 

Demonstrated teaching excellence and a commitment to undergraduate teaching and service is required. We are looking for innovation-minded applicants who 1) can help shape and grow a program and 2) have demonstrated teaching excellence and a collaborative and interdisciplinary commitment to undergraduate liberal arts.
